Now in its 52nd year, ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ is the most-watched New Year’s Eve special program in the United States. It begins on the evening of December 31st and continues until the early hours of New Year’s Day. The program, which lasts over five hours, is filled with performances from the year’s top artists and the New Year’s countdown event in Times Square, New York.

In the global lineup announced on the day, NewJeans will be performing alongside Post Malone and Ivy Queen. Post Malone will perform in Las Vegas, Ivy Queen in Puerto Rico, and NewJeans will meet their audience from a stage in Korea. They plan to perform “Super Shy” and “ETA,” the title tracks from their second EP, ‘Get Up’.

Previous K-pop artists who have appeared on ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ include Psy, BTS, J-Hope (BTS), and Tomorrow by Together. NewJeans, the first K-pop girl group, and the fastest K-pop artist to appear on the program just 1 year and 5 months after their debut have proven their global stature.

NewJeans has been active on various global stages this year. In August, they became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the large-scale American music festival, ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’, where they received an explosive response from approximately 70,000 audience members. Last month, NewJeans performed at the opening ceremony of the world’s largest e-sports festival, the ‘League of Legends (LoL) World Championship finals’, and became the first K-pop girl group to perform at one of the three major American music awards, the ‘Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs)’.

‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2024′ will be broadcast live on ABC from 8 p.m. local time (10 a.m. Korean time on January 1).
