The first still shots from the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic movie have been released, and fans are already impressed with the uncanny resemblance between the actor playing Michael Jackson and the King of Pop himself.

On February 13 (KST), The Sun reported, “The resemblance between the lead actor Jaafar Jackson and Michael Jackson in the latest still from the upcoming biopic is attracting worldwide media attention.”

Dancer and actor Jaafar Jackson, who plays Michael Jackson in the film, expressed, “It’s an honor to portray my Uncle Michael in a film.” Jaafar Jackson strongly resembles Michael Jackson as his nephew, from his appearance to his physique.

The film attracts significant interest due to its connection to Graham King, who has a proven track record of producing successful and popular movies such as “Bohemian Rhapsody.” King shared, “Every expression, every note, every dance move of Jaafar Jackson is identical to Michael Jackson,” and “He is portraying Michael Jackson in a way that no other actor can.”

Antoine Fuqua, director of the upcoming biopic, praised Jaafar by sharing, “Jaafar Jackson and Michael Jackson are surprisingly identical beyond physical similarity. It feels like Michael’s soul has returned.”

The image released from the Michael Jackson biopic was taken on set by Kevin Mazur, a photographer whom Michael Jackson admired during his lifetime. Mazur shared, “When I stepped onto the set, it felt like I was returning to a Michael Jackson concert. Watching Jaafar Jackson’s performance, I thought, ‘Wow, this is Michael.'”

The film is scheduled to be released on April 28, 2025. The movie will show Michael Jackson’s journey to becoming the “King of Pop” through triumphs and tragedies. It will also portray Michael Jackson’s human side and his genius.
