Netflix CEO Hypes Up ‘Squid Game 2’: Anticipates Global Sensation

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos expressed his anticipation for the second season of “Squid Game.”

On the afternoon of the 16th, Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, met with reporters at the Netflix Seoul Sarangbang event held at Centropolis in Jongno-gu, Seoul, which marks his first visit to Korea in eight months.

CEO Sarandos said, “Last year, ‘Gilboksoon’ and ‘The Glory’ caused a sensation, and in 2024, ‘Physical:100’, ‘Sweet Home,’ and ‘Squid Game’ will return with another season,” and he added, “Personally, I’m a fan of ‘Physical:100’ and ‘Sweet Home’ so I can’t wait to see the new season.”

In particular, regarding the second season of “Squid Game”, he said, “I’m excited to see Director Hwang Dong Hyuk’s ability to elevate the story to new heights and I’m sure it will captivate the entire world”.

Sarandos visited the filming location for the second season of “Squid Game” and discussed it with Director Hwang Dong HJyuk and the production team.

He also visited Eyeline Studio, a subsidiary of Netflix’s Scanline VFX, and met with employees. He has completed his Korean itinerary this weekend.
