LE SSERAFIM voiced their bold dream of reaching the Billboard Hot 100 with their title track “EASY” during their comeback showcase on February 19th. Congratulations to the group because that dream has now become a reality.

As of March 9th, LE SSERAFIM’s “EASY” from their 3rd mini-album debuted on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart at #99! Having already dominated the Korean and Japanese charts, LE SSERAFIM is solidifying their global popularity with this impressive Billboard debut.

The Billboard Hot 100 ranks songs based on sales, streaming, radio play, and even YouTube views. Notably, making the chart as a foreign artist can be challenging due to the weight of radio airplay, which can be harder to secure internationally. Despite this hurdle, LE SSERAFIM’s “EASY” managed to enter the chart at #99, even with the added disadvantage of being released on a Monday evening. This accomplishment highlights the song’s overall popularity and showcases LE SSERAFIM’s potential for even greater global success.

Their latest single “EASY” and its accompanying mini-album of the same name debuted at an impressive #8 on the Billboard 200 chart. This marks their second consecutive Top 10 entry on the Billboard 200, following the success of their full-length album “UNFORGIVEN.” This achievement further solidifies their growing fanbase in the US. With this impacting feat, LE SSERAFIM joins the ranks of BLACKPINK, TWICE, and New Jeans as the only K-pop girl groups to ever chart on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200.

LE SSERAFIM’s success is the result of a strategic approach and their undeniable talent. Opting for a social media-centric campaign, they bypassed traditional channels and utilized the #MakeItLookEasy shorts challenge on YouTube, effectively engaging a global audience and introducing their new song “EASY” to fans worldwide.

Their music video for “EASY” garnered significant attention upon release. They then surprised fans with the unexpected release of three performance videos the following day. This strategic rollout resulted in all four videos, including the music video, landing in the Top 20 of YouTube’s trending videos chart in the U.S. on February 21st. Further solidifying their global reach, LE SSERAFIM released an English version of the “EASY” live performance on February 24th on the popular Vevo channel, attracting even more viewers.

LE SSERAFIM’s content cleverly showcased their undeniable strength and performance skills. In their “EASY” music video, the five members reinterpreted classic 1980s and 90s American hip-hop dance through a contemporary K-pop lens. This unique blend evoked a sense of both fresh innovation and nostalgic familiarity for U.S. audiences, creating a captivating experience. Their music videos and performance videos, helmed by the experienced eyes of former choreographers like Nina McNeely and Kreative Beno, beautifully captured the essence of the dance and garnered a remarkably positive response.

LE SSERAFIM’s trajectory in the U.S. market is upward, with each release setting new benchmarks on Billboard, Spotify, and iTunes. Having established a strong presence on the charts, they cemented their U.S. entry with their first English single, “Perfect Night,” last October. Their approach goes beyond the K-pop fan base, embracing the general public through appearances on NBC’s “Today” show, NBA collaborations, and a performance at the massive BlizzCon 2023 gaming festival.

LE SSERAFIM’s “EASY” is proving to be a massive hit, shattering their streaming records on Spotify’s U.S. charts. Compared to their previous English single “Perfect Night” which peaked at 380,000 daily streams in November 2023, “EASY” surged nearly 40% higher, reaching a staggering 530,000 daily streams on February 20th. This isn’t the only record being broken – “EASY” also amassed over 2.9 million streams during the week of February 23 to 29, becoming the most streamed LE SSERAFIM song on the platform in a single week.

These impressive numbers are significant not only for LE SSERAFIM but for K-pop artists in general. Surpassing 500,000 daily streams and 2.9 million weekly streams in the U.S. is a rare feat, and it’s a testament to the success of “EASY” as well as the impact of their previous activities. This solidifies LE SSERAFIM’s growing position in the US market, attracting a significant number of new listeners eager for more from the talented group.

LE SSERAFIM’s meteoric rise in the U.S. shows no signs of slowing down. With their recent debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and their upcoming history-making performance as the only K-pop girl group at Coachella, the largest music festival in the U.S., on April 13 and 20, their influence is poised to soar even higher.
