Why Did Everyone Laugh at Lisa Cheering for South Korea vs. Thailand?

wikitree Views

Everyone burst into joyful laughter at the sight of Lisa cheering for the Thailand match.

Led by interim coach Hwang Sun Hong, the South Korean national team faced Thailand in the fourth match of Group C in the second round of the 2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup qualifiers. The match occurred at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on the 26th at 9:30 PM (KST).

Thailand showed deep interest in this match by replacing the stadium’s grass. Thailand invested hundreds of millions of won to replace the grass at Rajamangala Stadium completely. According to the Thai media Khaosan Online, Thailand used heavy machinery to remove all the soil from the existing ground and redid the foundational drainage work.

This interest from Thailand was evidenced by the clever appearance of superstar Lisa, who has long connections with Korea, being captured.

Today, a post titled ‘Live Blackpink Lisa’ was uploaded to an online community. The post featured Lisa watching the match between Korea and Thailand from the VIP section.

Lisa was seen comfortably holding a half-and-half slogan written with Thailand and Korea, smiling broadly. The slogan, half written with THA for Thailand and the other half with KOR for Korea, shows how deeply Thai Lisa cares about and is interested in Korea.

Fans who saw this reacted with comments like “Cheering with an impartiality policy,” “Lisa is charming,” “It’s fascinating that Korea is red like the Red Devils in the meantime,” and “This is touching.”
