J-Hope of BTS has set a new record on the U.S. Billboard chart.
According to a chart preview article posted on the official website of the U.S. music specialist media, Billboard, on the 8th (Korean time), J-Hope’s special album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1, which was released on the 29th of last month, has entered the main album chart Billboard 200 (dated April 13th) at number 5. This is the highest ranking for a solo album released by J-Hope on the Billboard 200. The album recorded 44,000 in physical album sales, 4,000 in SEA units (sales converted from streaming counts), and 2,000 in TEA units (sales converted from digital music download counts).
J-Hope also became the only K-pop solo artist to enter the Billboard 200 top 10 with two consecutive works (albums). His Weverse album Jack In The Box, released in 2022, previously ranked 17th on this chart. The following year, when it was re-released as a physical album, it ranked 6th on the Billboard 200. Following this, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 entered at number 5.
Meanwhile, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 is an album that encapsulates J-Hope’s artistic roots in street dance, identity, and original intentions. With his new album, J-Hope has achieved a career-high by ranking 38th on the latest UK Official Album Chart.
