Italian model Eugenio Casnighi claims he was fired by the Met Gala because he received more attention for his good looks while standing next to stars like Jennie from BLACKPINK.

On May 5th, Eugenio Casnighi announced on his TikTok account that he was kicked out by the event organizers after his looks became the hot topic of Met Gala 2023.

Previously, on May 1st of last year, Eugenio Casnighi was in charge of the security duties for model Kylie Jenner at the Met Gala 2023, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. At the time, his face was caught on camera during interviews with several stars, including Jennie from BLACKPINK, making him a hot topic.

Casnighi said, “I was fired because I became famous. They told me, ‘We can’t let you work here because you’re acting like the star. We’re sorry.'” He continued, “I can’t understand this situation because looks were one of the reasons I was hired in the first place.”

The Met Gala is the world’s largest fashion charity event, held on the first Monday in May every year. The Met Gala 2023 was held under the theme Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.

Jennie, who is currently an official ambassador for the global fashion brand Chanel, attracted attention by wearing an off-shoulder mini dress adorned with signature flower decorations.

American fashion magazine W also selected Jennie as one of the Best Dressed of Met Gala 2023, alongside actress Nicole Kidman, singer Rihanna, and others.
