The global girl group KATSEYE, a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, will finally debut in the United States.

KATSEYE is a group formed through the audition program The Debut: Dream Academy, which aired from September to November 2023. The group consists of six elite members who were selected from a competition rate of 6,000:1. The members are Daniela (USA), Lara (USA), Manon (Switzerland), Megan (USA), Sophia (Philippines), and Yoon Chae (South Korea).

On the 13th, they uploaded a team logo trailer video on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel, marking the beginning of their debut countdown. The ever-shifting six-faceted gem shapes, which display different appearances according to the viewing angle, along with the enigmatic glow of the spheres circling them, offer subtle clues to the team’s identity. Especially at the end of the video, a schedule marked June 28 at 12 AM ET was revealed.

HYBE and Geffen Records announced, “KATSEYE’s first single will be released at midnight on June 28 Eastern Time. Their second single and EP will also be released in July and August, respectively.” They added, “KATSEYE is excited to show fans everything they have prepared and begin a new journey together.”

KATSEYE is the first girl group from HYBE and Geffen Records to debut in the mainstream pop market of the United States. Over a 90-day audition process, the six members showcased their preparedness as global pop stars, undergoing missions that evaluated dance, vocals, teamwork, concept adaptation, and artistic abilities.

There is high interest from fans around the world. During the airing of The Debut: Dream Academy, the community for KATSEYE on the global super fan platform Weverse attracted active participation from fans in over 220 countries/regions. Currently, the number of members in the KATSEYE fan community is approaching 300,000.

HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk expressed his expectations for KATSEYE at the Dream Academy Live Finale, saying, “I hope they represent the voice of a new era and generation, inspiring young people worldwide with the message that dreams can come true.”

Moreover, Grammy.com included them in their list of 11 Rookie K-Pop Acts To Know In 2024, announced earlier this year.
