BTS’ Suga Apologizes for Drunk Electric Scooter Ride—Here’s What Happened

joynews24 Views

BTS member Suga issued an apology following an accident involving riding a drunk electric scooter.

Suga shared his apology on the fan community platform Weverse, addressing yesterday’s incident. He stated, “I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt by my careless and wrongful actions.”

Suga explained, “Last night, after drinking at a dinner gathering, I rode an electric scooter home. I didn’t realize that riding an electric scooter while intoxicated is against the law due to my careless assumption that it was a short distance.”

Following this, Suga continued, “While attempting to park the electric scooter at the front gate of my house, I fell over alone. Nearby police officers conducted a breathalyzer test, resulting in the revocation of my license and a fine being imposed.” He further stated, “Although there were no injuries to others or damage to property during this incident, I take full responsibility without any excuse, and I sincerely apologize to everyone involved.”

“I apologize to everyone who was hurt by my careless and wrongful actions, and I will pay more attention to my behavior in the future to ensure this does not happen again,” he added.

Meanwhile, Seoul Yongsan Police Station stated today that Suga has been booked for violating traffic laws (drunk driving) and is under investigation.

According to the police, Suga was found the previous day in Yongsan-gu riding an electric scooter while intoxicated and had fallen over. Nearby officers reportedly went to assist him, noticed the smell of alcohol, and subsequently took him to the nearby police station.
