Jungkook from BTS earned his third consecutive MTV Video Music Awards nomination.
Jungkook has received two nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, as announced on the official website and social media yesterday. He is up for Best Collaboration with “Seven (feat. Latto)” and Best K-Pop.
Jungkook is named alongside Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Drake, and others in the Best Collaboration category, reaffirming his status as a global pop star.
Jungkook made history in 2022 as the first Korean solo artist nominated for Song of Summer with his collaboration “Left and Right (Feat. Jungkook of BTS).” This year marks his third consecutive nomination for the MTV VMA.
Notably, his song “Seven (feat. Latto)” won the Song of Summer award last year, making Jungkook the first Korean solo artist to win in this category.
This year’s VMA is scheduled for September 10 at the UBS Arena in New York.
Meanwhile, Jungkook’s debut solo single “Seven (feat. Latto),” released last July, made a significant impact worldwide, quickly becoming a mega-hit. The song soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and secured the No. 3 position on the Official UK Singles Chart, marking a remarkable achievement across major global music charts. It set a Spotify record by surpassing 1 billion streams in the shortest time ever.
“Seven (feat. Latto)” ranked first in Billboard’s 2024 International Power Players, which is based on performance on the Global (excluding the U.S.) chart announced last April. This achievement made the song the most popular track across more than 200 countries and regions worldwide, excluding the U.S., as certified by Billboard.
