Former Big Bang member Seungri, who was ousted from the entertainment industry following his involvement in the infamous Burning Sun Gate scandal, has recently reappeared in the public eye, sparking widespread attention.

On Tuesday, a video showcasing Seungri’s current activities surfaced across popular online communities, further fueling public curiosity about his life after the scandal.

The footage shows Seungri’s apparent reinvention as a businessman. He is seen holding meetings with potential investors, dressed in a suit and sporting horn-rimmed glasses. He has noticeably gained weight compared to his more slender days with Big Bang, which draws attention to his changed appearance.

Seungri debuted as a hugely popular K-pop group Big Bang member in 2006, quickly rising to fame and becoming one of South Korea’s biggest stars. However, his career stopped in 2019 after he was implicated in the Burning Sun Gate scandal, a massive controversy that rocked the South Korean entertainment industry and ultimately led to his expulsion from the public eye.

He was charged with several serious offenses, including facilitating prostitution, embezzlement, and violations of foreign exchange laws. In May 2022, the South Korean Supreme Court sentenced Seungri to 18 months in prison.

After serving his sentence, Seungri was released, but he quickly returned to public life with little sign of remorse. He was spotted traveling across Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Bangkok, and Cambodia. In January, during an event at a restaurant in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, he caused a stir by claiming he would bring fellow Big Bang member G-Dragon to the venue in the future—a remark that sparked significant backlash online.

In August, rumors spread that Seungri would attend the Burning Sun Surabaya event in Indonesia, igniting fresh outrage. However, it was later confirmed that these reports were false.

Seungri responded to the false allegations by announcing his plans to take legal action. “I am currently preparing a lawsuit and will follow formal procedures,” he said, signaling his intent to pursue justice against the organizers who aggressively spread the misinformation.
