The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) has referred the case of Song Min Ho, a member of the K-pop group WINNER, to the police after allegations surfaced about his inadequate service during his mandatory alternative military duty.

On Thursday, the MMA confirmed it had officially asked law enforcement to investigate the matter. If the investigation reveals any misconduct during his service, the MMA could revoke his discharge and require him to re-enlist for any period found to be problematic despite having already completed his service.

Song Min Ho began working as a social service worker at a facility in Seoul’s Mapo District in March last year and completed his duties this past Monday.

Earlier last week, Dispatch raised concerns about Song Min Ho’s performance during his service. According to the report, the singer traveled abroad in October and was reportedly absent from his post for an extended period, with no verifiable evidence of him fulfilling his work obligations.

YG Entertainment, Song Min Ho’s agency, explained that his medical leave was a continuation of treatment he had received before his service and confirmed that the regulations took all other time off. However, fellow social service workers have surfaced with additional accusations that Song received special treatment, including adjustments to his work hours and exemptions from certain duties.
