Model Moon Ga Bi has finally spoken out about the birth of her child with South Korean actor Jung Woo Sung, breaking her silence on the matter.

Moon Ga Bi shared her thoughts on social media on Saturday. “Last month, I made the difficult decision to move forward as a mother, leaving the past behind,” she wrote. On my child’s first birthday, I wanted to share this joyful news with all those who have supported me. My greatest wish is for my child to be blessed, and one day, I hope to tell them, Mom was so proud of you.”

Moon Ga Bi explained why she had chosen to speak out. “There have been numerous articles written about me and that person, many of which include unverified claims and harsh comments,” she continued. “The one most hurt by this situation is my defenseless child, so I decided to clarify my position publicly for the first time since announcing my childbirth in November.”

“I initially chose silence to protect everyone involved,” Moon Ga Bi explained. “But now, I feel compelled to speak up to protect my child. The narrative surrounding us has been completely distorted by articles that have shown no consideration for me or my child. My silence wasn’t an admission of the speculations but an effort to protect my child and their father.”

Moon Ga Bi also addressed some of the rumors circulating about her. “There have been claims that I became pregnant after just a few meetings with someone I never dated, demanded marriage for child support, and gave birth without any agreement after being rejected. While there’s much I’d like to correct, I’ll focus on the most important points. Since meeting at a gathering in 2022, we developed a meaningful relationship that continued until the end of 2023.” She shared these details to clarify the situation surrounding her relationship with Jung Woo Sung.

Moon Ga Bi emphasized that she hadn’t met Jung Woo Sung since January and firmly rejected speculation about her pregnancy. “I never demanded marriage or anything else due to the pregnancy,” she said. “We both decided to welcome this child, who came into our lives as an unexpected gift during a natural and healthy relationship. We had moments of joy, excitement, and happiness while anticipating the arrival of our child. It’s wrong to assume that this child is a mistake or that they will grow up unhappy simply because our current relationship differs from what some might expect.”

“I made the decision to have this child, ready to dedicate my life to them, and it’s become the greatest gift I could have given myself,” Moon Ga Bi declared. “This child is neither a mistake nor the result of one. I’m not seeking praise for taking responsibility, nor do I deserve criticism. I hope that the baseless speculation and false information about me and my child stop.”

Moon Ga Bi had previously shared the news of her son’s birth on her social media account on November 22. The father of the child is the acclaimed actor Jung Woo Sung. In response to the controversy surrounding their out-of-wedlock child, Jung Woo Sung addressed the issue during his appearance at the Blue Dragon Film Awards on November 29. He expressed his regret, saying, “I sincerely apologize to everyone who has shown me love and expectations for causing concern and disappointment.” He continued, “I will take full responsibility for all criticism and continue to carry it. As a father, I will fulfill my responsibilities to my son to the very end.”
