Actor Lee Jung Jae and Squid Game have done it once more.

On Monday, Artist United announced that Squid Game Season 2 has won the top spot in 93 countries. It’s clear that audiences worldwide can’t get enough of Lee Jung Jae’s latest project.

According to FlixPatrol, Squid Game Season 2 has shown its global dominance by holding the number one position in Netflix’s global TV rankings for three consecutive days since its release. On Friday’s first day of tracking, the show topped the charts in 92 out of 93 countries, except New Zealand. By the following day, however, it had also secured the top spot there, proving it had continued the massive success of its first season.

The Netflix original series Squid Game Season 2 picks up with Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who returns to the deadly game seeking revenge, facing off against the enigmatic Front Man (Lee Byung Hun) in a high-stakes, intense showdown.

As the global promotional campaign for Squid Game Season 2 thrusts Lee Jung Jae into the international spotlight, all eyes are also on Artist United, which is set to merge with Artist Company on January 17. Lee Jung Jae will become the largest shareholder and lead actor in the newly merged company. The early success of Squid Game Season 2, which has topped the Netflix charts in every country in which it’s available, has significantly increased interest in Artist United.

Meanwhile, Squid Game Season 2 was nominated for Best TV Drama at the Golden Globe Awards even before its official release. In 2022, Lee Jung Jae won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role in Squid Game. The series made history as the first non-English-language show to be nominated for—and win—an Emmy Award.
