BTS’ Jungkook Dominates US Spotify with Chart-Topping Solo Tracks

BTS member Jungkook’s debut solo album GOLDEN has set a record for the most first-day streams for a K-pop solo album on Spotify.

According to the Daily Top Songs Global chart released by Spotify, the world’s largest streaming platform, on April 4th (local time), Jungkook’s “Seven” and the new album’s title track “Standing Next to You” ranked first and second respectively.

“Standing Next to You” was streamed 6,472,019 times.

In addition, “3D’ ranked 7th, “Hate You” 16th, “Yes or No” 18th, “Please Don’t Change” 23rd, “Closer to You” 24th, “Somebody” 27th, “Shot Glass of Tears” 28th, and “Too Sad to Dance” 29th.

The tracks from GOLDEN were played 39,653,740 times on the day of its release. Big Hit Music, the label, announced that this is a new record for the most streams on the chart entry day for a K-pop solo artist’s album.

Meanwhile, GOLDEN recorded the number one sales volume with 205,961 copies in the Daily Album Ranking of Japan’s Oricon. ‘Standing Next to You’ also topped the Daily Digital Single Ranking.

GOLDEN set a new record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop solo artist by selling 2 million copies within 5 hours of its release at 1 PM on April 3rd, according to Hanteo Chart.
