On the 16th, the international couple Kim Hye-sun and Stefan, who have been married for six years, appeared on the SBS show Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny (hereafter Same Bed 2).

Kim Hye-sun, who gained popularity as a muscular female character after passing the KBS public recruitment for comedians at 29, recalled her sudden decision to halt her activities and study in Germany. She confessed that she suffered from depression during her comedian career, saying, “My true self is feminine and introverted. I always had to portray a strong, muscular woman, which caused a lot of dissonance. That’s why I fell into a deep depression.”

She also said, “I am not violent, but I felt like I was becoming that person in reality. After the show ended, I should have returned to my normal self, but at some point, I forgot who Kim Hye-sun was. It felt like I had lost the real Kim Hye-sun and had no reason to live anymore.”

Afterward, Kim Hye-sun chose to go to Germany as if she was being chased. She told a shocking story, saying, “In fact, the expression ‘I went there to die’ would be accurate.” Kim Hye-sun met her current husband, Stefan, in Germany, where she had given up everything and left.

On the episode, Kim Hye-sun also shared the decisive reason for marrying Stefan. Before meeting Stefan, her boyfriend had deeply hurt her, and she said, “When I was portraying a masculine character, my ex-boyfriend said, ‘You’re too masculine. You’re not a woman,’ which hurt me a lot. I thought it was love, even though it was wrong. I had breast surgery because I wanted to feel loved.”

She decided to have breast surgery after being hurt by her ex-boyfriend’s words on SBS, Same Bed 2: You Are My Destiny.

Kim Hye-sun said, “After the surgery, I realized, ‘He’s love is wrong.’ After breaking up, I went to Germany, and strangely, one side of my chest started to hurt.”

She continued, “When I met my husband, my chest hurt, and problems arose, so I considered removing the implants. Because the line of my breasts changed. About a month after meeting my husband, I talked about it and had the implants removed. The first thing my husband said while waiting for me in the operating room and hugging me after the surgery was, ‘I’m so happy because your heart is closer.’ Hearing that, I thought I had to bring my husband to Korea. I had to marry him,” she said, her eyes welling up with tears. Watching this, Stefan said, “I love Hye-sun just the way she is,” touching everyone’s hearts.

Kim Hye-sun expressed her love for her husband Stefan, saying, “When I was about to lose myself and fall apart, my husband always reminded me. ‘This is also part of you. You’re doing it because you’re good at it. Not everyone can do it like you. It’s a talent you have.’ He always refreshes my mind, so I’m no longer afraid of such things.”

She added, “In a way, I went to Germany to die, but he saved me there. He gave me a second life; he helped me find another Kim Hye-sun,” showing tears.

Kim Hye-sun and Stefan held their second wedding ceremony on that day’s episode with Stefan’s parents, who visited Korea. The surprise wedding prepared by the couple moved Stefan’s parents to tears and recorded the ‘highest minute’ with a viewership rating of 9.4%.
