Will Your Job Be Replaced by AI? 10 Careers That Might Disappear Soon

daily Views

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) is remarkable. Recently, generative AI has been increasingly integrated across various industries, posing a real threat to human jobs. Generative AI can create new content and ideas, such as conversations, stories, images, videos, and music. As AI learns from existing data and generates new content, the number of affected professionals is expected to grow exponentially in the future.

Engineers

Computer programmers, software engineers, and data analysts are essential to leveraging AI. However, the rise of low-code and no-code platforms—requiring little to no coding—challenges engineers’ long-term job security. While tools like ChatGPT are currently valuable for coding assistance, there is concern that such technologies could eventually replace engineering jobs.

The Media

The media industry faces one of the most direct threats from AI. Due to AI advancements, jobs for journalists, ad creators, and technical writers are expected to decline rapidly. Generative AI, trained on vast amounts of text, can significantly replace human creativity in fields that demand standardized outputs.

Legal Services

While AI cannot fully replace paralegals or legal assistants, it is expected to take over many aspects of legal services. AI can swiftly analyze and process large volumes of legal data and perform case law analysis. Although AI may not fully replace face-to-face client consultations, it is likely to handle a substantial portion of background tasks in the legal field.

Market Analysts

Market analysts, including those who observe and analyze market trends, face threats from AI. AI reports currently do not offer investment recommendations as human analysts do. For example, recent AI-generated reports in finance have mainly organized existing data and figures. However, generative AI is expected to address these gaps efficiently and rapidly, potentially transforming the field.

Teachers

AI is anticipated to change the role of teachers significantly. AI tools, such as Google’s generative AI Bard, are used in educational settings to explain complex concepts like space telescopes, making them accessible to young students. While AI is unlikely to fully replace teachers—especially in areas requiring emotional support and character development—it may take on the task of delivering basic curriculum content. As AI evolves, its role in education is likely to expand.

Designers

Designers face a significant threat from generative AI. This technology initially gained attention for its ability to create art and continues to advance rapidly. Recently, some game apps have been developed entirely with AI-generated assets. Consequently, companies in the design industry, including Adobe with Photoshop, are accelerating their efforts in AI development. The myth that AI cannot surpass human creativity in the arts has been debunked.

Accountants

Accounting was once considered a secure profession, even with advancements in AI. However, it is no longer seen as immune to technological disruption. AI has progressed to the point where it can systematically categorize and organize accounting data. A recent study from the University of Toronto indicates that intellectual workers handling numbers, such as accountants, are at a significant risk of job loss due to AI advancements.

Celebrities and Influencers

Though it might seem far-fetched today, the future could see AI-generated celebrities and influencers becoming commonplace. Generative AI can create lifelike figures that people often find appealing. Many companies are already leveraging AI-generated personalities for their virtual influencers. While these AI characters can still evoke a sense of the uncanny valley for some viewers, their complete controllability and low operating costs suggest experimentation will persist. As these trials advance, successful implementations are likely to emerge swiftly.

Telemarketers

It was once believed that jobs requiring direct human interaction, such as telemarketers, could not be replaced by AI. However, telemarketers have already been largely replaced by AI. With the rise of social media and mobile messaging, chatbots have taken over voice-based telemarketing, and AI is now being used even in areas where voice communication is essential.

Doctors

AI innovation has long targeted doctors. Many IT companies are working on healthcare technology to assume some of the roles traditionally held by doctors. AI has already made significant strides in testing, measurement, and assistance tasks. However, diagnosing illnesses and managing patient care still require human expertise. Therefore, it will take considerable time before AI can fully replace human doctors.
