The Hong Kong Tourism Board has launched its Halloween campaign to celebrate the spooky season in Hong Kong.

According to The Standard, the Hong Kong Tourism Board creates “Spooktacular city vibes” through multiple initiatives, including the Space Museum, Halloween Tram, and Ice Cream Truck MTR Station.

One of the highlights is the 3D pumpkin projection mapping at the Hong Kong Space Museum. The museum will showcase 3D projections of pumpkins, white ghosts, and the Milky Way on its large dome. These projections occur daily from October 18 to 31, from 8:15 PM to 10:30 PM. While the Tourism Board previously mapped the dome with a ‘Smiling Pineapple Bun’ in 2021 to promote tourism, having Halloween-themed projections is the first of its kind.

Visitors can also experience the Halloween vibe on the streets of Hong Kong. From October 11 through the end of the month, a specially decorated Halloween tram will operate around Hong Kong Island. The beloved ice cream truck, Mister Softee, will be transformed into a whimsical pumpkin carriage.

From October 18, every Friday and Saturday evening for two weeks, visitors can view Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Mong Kok streets. On Halloween night, a free ice cream giveaway will take place at Central Ferry Pier 8 from 7 PM to 10 PM.

Hong Kong Tourism Board executive director Dane Cheng Ting-yat stated that the goal is to foster a festive atmosphere for residents and tourists while revitalizing the nighttime economy.
