RIIZE Takes No. 1 Spot on Music Chart

joynews24 Views

For the first time since its debut, the group RIIZE has won first place on a music show.

RIIZE appeared on Mnet’s M! Countdown hosted by MC Sohee on the 18th, showcasing the performance of “Love 119,” and received their first music show trophy just four months after the debut. The live encore performance following also received positive responses.

“Love 119,” which RIIZE released on January 5, is a digital single without a physical record. Since this music show award was based on the result of adding up scores from digital music, social media, fan votes, and broadcast scores, excluding album scores, it certainly marked the birth of a ‘rising digital music powerhouse.’

During the broadcast, RIIZE said, “This is our first time winning first place on a music show. We want to express our gratitude to BRIIZE (official fan club name) and all those who have always worked hard for us. Thank you for watching and supporting us since our debut. We will remember this award and do our best in the future.”

After this, the members celebrated, raising the trophy with a loud shout of “RIIZE, BRIIZE, we rise!” during a surprise Weverse live broadcast. They also expressed joy, suggesting a ‘relay dance’ as a promise for the next music show win and saying, “It feels like we couldn’t fully enjoy it because it was our first time.”

They also added their heartfelt feelings, saying “I was overwhelmed and choked up with emotion. This is also an award for BRIIZE” (Shotaro), “We know our fans have given efforts for us” (Eunseok), “It feels like we’ve been running for this moment, as if the past time passed by like a blink” (Sungchan), “It’s nice to have our goals fulfilled one by one. We will continue to get things done” (Wonbin), “When we confirmed the first place, all I could think of was BRIIZE” (Sohee), “I’m happy that there are continuous things to be thankful for these days” (Anton).

RIIZE’s single “Love 119” is a song that metaphorically expresses the emotions of first love as an emergency, successfully continuing the narrative of RIIZE’s unique genre, ‘Emotional Pop,’ while proving the power of SM music. It updated its own highest ranking by reaching 7th place on the Melon TOP 100 chart (as of the 18th) and is showing a steady rise in popularity on major domestic and international music charts.

Meanwhile, RIIZE will perform “Love 119” on MBC’s Show! Music Core, which will be broadcast on the 20th.
