Kim Jong Un Emphasizes That All Three Priorities Are War Readiness North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has emphasized war readiness while observing an airborne troop drill. The North's state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on March 16 that Kim led a drill on March 15 for the Airborne Land Warriors. The drill was aimed at "inspecting the readiness of the airborne soldiers to be mobilized according to arbitrary operational prayers issued under unjust wartime conditions," the news agency said, describing the drill as "transport planes flying over the training grounds and combatants raining down on the virtual enemy lines like hailstones." "The basic task of the People's Army is first, second, and third, to prepare for war," Kim said, ordering that "every soldier in the entire army must be strongly armed with a firm confrontational will and a thorough war outlook, with the determination to change the course of history if war breaks out."
