The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on the 24th that at least 137 people were killed in the indiscriminate terror attack that took place at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk, northwest of Moscow, Russia, on the 22nd (local time).

Among the 182 injured, about 100 are hospitalized, and some are in serious condition, so the number of deaths may increase in the future, Reuters and other media reported.

A Russian court ordered four suspects in this shooting and arson terror attack to be detained until May 22, AP and other media reported.

The Basmanny District Court in Moscow announced that the four Tajik nationals, including Dalerjon Mirzoyev (32), Saidakrami Rachabaliyozoda (30), Shamsidin Fariduni (25), and Muhammadsovir Paizov (19), who are accused of mass terrorism, will be held in pre-trial detention until May 22.

Previously, Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, condemned this terror attack, saying, “Terrorists have no nationality, no homeland, and no religion.”

The three suspects, in their 20s and 30s, appeared in court with swollen and badly bruised faces from torture during FSB interrogations, and all pleaded guilty. In contrast, Paizov appeared in court in a wheelchair wearing a hospital gown and pants and was assisted by medical staff, keeping his eyes closed throughout the suspect interrogation, the AP said.

If their alleged criminal charges are convicted, they could be sentenced to life imprisonment at most, the AP explained. Russian authorities have detained seven more people on suspicion of involvement in this attack.

This attack was perpetrated by ISIS (Former name of IS)-K (Khorasan), a branch of the extremist armed group Islamic State (IS), which has been active in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran, according to US officials, but Russian authorities, including President Vladimir Putin, are claiming a “Ukraine masterminding theory,” the New York Times pointed out.

In fact, shortly after this incident, ISIS-K released a video of the terror at the time and announced that they had carried out this terror.

ISIS-K’s propaganda medium, Amaq, released a 90-second “exclusive video: a bloody attack against Christians”, according to dpa.

The video includes a scene where the four suspects cross a section of the concert hall, one terrorist suspect fires an assault rifle toward the hallway of the concert hall where many bodies had already fallen, and another terrorist suspect stabs a victim who had fallen to the floor.

The voices of the suspects were distorted, and one of them said, “Kill mercilessly. We are here for God’s cause,” according to the subtitles.
