On May 7th, at noon in the Andreyevsky Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin held his fifth inauguration ceremony, marking the start of a new six-year term.
As reported by Rodong Sinmun on the 8th, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sent a letter to Putin through the Russian embassy in North Korea on the same day.
In his letter, Kim congratulated Putin on his inauguration and expressed his wish for great success in Putin’s responsible endeavors for the Russian state and its people, according to the newspaper.
The inauguration ceremony followed Article 82 of the Russian Federation Constitution, with the participation of members of the Federal Assembly, State Council deputies, and Constitutional Court judges. The ceremony included Putin’s oath of office, and the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court declared Putin’s inauguration.
The newspaper added that diplomatic representatives from various countries stationed in Russia attended the inauguration ceremony.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by around 2,600 major domestic and international figures, with Ambassador Lee Do Hoon in Russia representing the South Korean government.
