Ukraine Condemns Kim-Putin Pact as ‘Mass Murder’ Agreement

About Russia and North Korea signing a strategic military partnership, Ukraine has raised a voice of criticism, calling it a “blatant unilateral invalidation of the international community’s decisions, resolutions, and sanctions against North Korea.”

On the 19th, Mykhailo Podolyak, a political adviser to Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, expressed on X (formerly Twitter) that prohibitive tools are entirely ineffective, implying that there are practically no more rules governing their use.

He criticized the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between North Korea and Russia, characterizing it as essentially a public pact aimed at the joint destruction of global rules and the orchestration of mass civilian casualties in other countries.

Meanwhile, Podolyak asserted to AFP that “There is no doubt that North Korea is actively cooperating with Russia in the military sphere today and deliberately provides resources for the mass murder of Ukrainians.”

He added, “It is obvious that the restrictive measures imposed on Russia and North Korea are insufficient. We need a more rigorous approach to real isolation.”

Ukraine revealed recently that North Korea supplied Russia with 1.8 million rounds of 122mm and 152mm self-propelled artillery shells.

The West suspects that North Korea is receiving military technology from Russia in return for weapons supply and claims that the weapons trade between the two countries violates the UN Security Council resolutions. Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, has also stated that they will “do everything possible to stop the supply of weapons from Iran and North Korea to Russia.”

Meanwhile, Putin signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement to elevate the relationship between North Korea and Russia after a summit with Kim Jong Un during his visit to North Korea.

Putin stated, “We will provide mutual support if invaded.” Kim added further significance by saying it was an “alliance with Russia.” He praised the agreement, stating that North Korea and Russia had reached “a new high level of the alliance.”
