A startling incident occurred at a school in Thailand during a snakebite prevention training session when a cobra slithered into an expert’s pants. According to the Bangkok Post, a school in Bung Kan in northeastern Thailand invited a wildlife expert to provide reptile safety training.

The incident happened during a segment focused on snake handling. The expert lost grip of the cobra he was managing, allowing the snake to slip into his pants.

The expert froze in place to avoid surprising the cobra, which could have attacked if provoked. A colleague then carefully approached, slowly removed the expert’s pants, and successfully retrieved the snake.

Nirut Chomngam, the expert involved, emphasized, “It is crucial to stay still when encountering a snake to avoid provoking it. If you find yourself close to a snake, stop moving and, once the snake has calmed down, back away in a straight line.”
