On April 23, GOPIZZA announced its application for a U.S. patent related to its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Smart Topping Table System.

From its inception, GOPIZZA has been developing its technology through its Future Technology Research Institute. Based on this, they have developed and patented an advanced AI Smart Topping Table System in the U.S. The company plans to commercialize this system fully this year.

The AI Smart Topping Table System is implemented in three stages:

  1. The “Sauce Stage” checks the sauce’s distribution by analyzing the 2D image of the pizza dough.
  2. The “Cheese Stage” determines the cheese’s density, color, and relative position of the pepperoni.
  3. The “Pepperoni Stage” identifies the position and size of each pepperoni slice to derive the optimal distribution.

The AI Smart Topping Table System automatically utilizes machine learning algorithms to identify objects in photos or videos. It identifies the position and amount of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni distributed on the pizza dough in real-time through a camera. This system allows even a first-time pizza maker to easily and accurately make a pizza.

A GOPIZZA representative said, “When we first started developing the technology, there were various obstacles such as high costs, immature technology, and resistance from the industry. However, we continued our research believing that AI technology can improve quality and productivity.” They added, “Having proven Gopizza’s technological prowess overseas, we will continue our research for innovation in the fast food industry beyond the pizza industry.”

In addition to the AI Smart Topping Table System, Gopizza has also developed the “Goven,” an oven that automatically rotates and maintains a specific temperature without the need for a person to turn the pizza manually. They also developed the “Gobot Station,” a robot technology that bakes, cuts, and drizzles sauce on the pizza once the staff applies the toppings.
