Laundry Hack: Just Two Wipes and THIS Happened

Essential item for washing black clothes
Wipes in the washing machine

Hey there, folks! Mr. Laundry King, aka HomeBro, is back with some fresh laundry hacks you’ll want to know. You’ve probably noticed that black clothing is a lint magnet—especially problematic if you own pets. Don’t fret! We’ve found some handy solutions that work like a charm.

Today’s Household Tip:
Dealing with Dust-Covered Black Clothes

I want to introduce you to clothes that have turned into a dusty mess due to one laundry mishap (shivers).

Firstly, black clothes should not be stored with white ones as a basic rule, but… Oops! Someone made the mistake and tossed them into the washing machine. That’s right!

It’s game over right away, especially when you wash them with towels. A dust explosion! You’ll end up with a miserable result almost comparable to a housecleaning pro!

Most people use lint rollers for dust removal for clothes like these. Of course, it’s somewhat effective, but it takes too much time, and it’s a task that demands quite a bit of patience, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.

As time goes by, you’ll likely not wear these dust-filled clothes anymore and eventually dispose of them.

CHAPTER 1: Wet Wipes

It turns out that your ordinary wet wipes can be your new best friend in the laundry room. If your black clothes are filled with lint, hair, and other debris, don’t just throw them in the washer—add a wet wipe or two.

Confused? Well, you shouldn’t be. Wet wipes actually act as an absorbent in the washing machine, helping to collect small fabrics, pet hair, and even human hair.

Note: Don’t go overboard by adding too many wet wipes. Anything more than two or three is unnecessary. And remember, never reuse a wet wipe for this hack! Also, check the strength of the wet wipe beforehand; if it tears easily, don’t use it. If you’re worried about the smell of wet wipes lingering on your clothes, toss in some fabric softener to set your mind at ease.

Before & After

The difference is evident when you compare the before and after shots of clothes washed with a wet wipe. The amount of lint and debris significantly reduces, making your black clothes look new again.

CHAPTER 2: Rubber Gloves

No wet wipes? No problem. Rubber gloves can also do the trick. Wet the gloves and brush away the lint—easy peasy. This hack is handy if you’re in a rush and don’t have time for a complete wash. Just make sure to rinse off the gloves to maximize their lint-removing capabilities.

CHAPTER 3: Sponges

Instead of rubber gloves, you can also use a sponge. The harder the material, the better. Kitchen sponges, or even those used at hair salons for sweeping away hair, can effectively remove lint. Dampen the sponge for even better results.

So, what do you think? With readily available items like wet wipes and rubber gloves, keeping your black clothes lint-free has never been easier. Until next time, HomeBro has covered you with more fun and valuable tips. SEE YOU AGAIN!
