What are the VVIP benefits of department stores where $85,000 annually is the minimum spend?

The Korean series VIP, which depicted the story of a department store VIP team handling the top 0.1% of customers, gained popularity in the past.

This led viewers to wonder, ‘Are these benefits real?’ ‘Is it possible to spend that much money?’ and other questions about the benefits received by VVIP customers.

In reality, Shinsegae Department Store’s highest customer tier, Trinity, is selected from the top 999 customers in terms of sales.

Once selected for Trinity, customers can enjoy valet parking, free parking, and a private lounge where they can rest and enjoy refreshments.

In addition, customers receive gifts such as cosmetics and Korean beef sets on birthdays and holidays every year, as well as invitations to luxury brand fashion shows like Chanel and various cultural events.

It is also reported that only Trinity customers are invited to pre-opening events for new or remodeled Shinsegae Department Stores, allowing them to browse the store.

Hyundai Department Store’s highest customer tier is Jasmine Black. Although the exact amount is not disclosed, the customer must have a certain amount of department store points. Jasmine Black customers can also access valet parking, a private lounge, and various partnership discounts and receive gifts on holidays and birthdays.

Jasmine Black customers are also offered a variety of opportunities related to culture and lifestyle.

Plants such as orchids and books recommended by celebrities are delivered regularly, and they can participate in one-day classes called ‘The Studio Class’ with top experts in various fields such as cooking and crafts.

Galleria

Lotte Department Store has two VIP standards. In particular, Avenue L, selected based on luxury consumption, operates in only three locations and requires a minimum annual luxury consumption of $85,000 to qualify for the highest tier, A.LVVIP.

They offer customers points that can be used for yacht tours, hotel stays, and VIP services at department stores such as France’s Lafayette and America’s Macy’s.

Galleria is famous for its VIP-focused strategy, including the well-known P-day, when it closes on regular holidays and invites VVIP customers to shop.

True to its brand as a luxury-focused department store, Galleria offers a concierge service that allows customers to purchase products from non-stocked brands, limited editions, and other items that are not easily accessible. They are also known to host VIP shows for each brand.

Given the staggering benefits, some VVIP customers intentionally spend more to maintain their status, shocking regular customers.
