Truth About Hair Conditioner and Hair Treatment: Which One Should You Use?

daily Views

If you often dye or perm your hair, your hair can look generally frizzy, and the texture can become damaged. Many people use hair conditioners and treatments to manage damaged hair. However, the usage and effects of rinse, hair treatment, and hair conditioner are similar, which can make management difficult. What are the differences between these two products, and how do their usage and effects differ?

The Two with Different Usage Methods

Treatment and hair conditioner, these two products have distinctly different usage methods. You should use the treatment on damaged hair just like you would use a rinse. However, for more effective results in improving your hair, apply the treatment and leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it out. On the other hand, hair conditioner is effective when used by people with healthy hair, and it is effective if used every time you wash your hair. After applying it to your hair, you can rinse it off immediately.

What if you want to use both products?

If you want to use both products, you should use the treatment first. You should first provide nutrients to your hair with treatment and then coat the outside with a conditioner to absorb the nutrients. Then, apply shampoo to your scalp and hair and leave it for 2~3 minutes. You should wash your scalp thoroughly. If you leave it too long, your scalp and hair can dry, so it’s best to wash it off for 3 minutes.

Conditioner VS Treatment

Hair conditioner thinly coats the hair’s surface, protecting it from hair’s outer environment and preventing hair tangling and static electricity. Treatment supplies nutrients to the hair, and its main ingredient is protein. Therefore, you will notice the beneficial effects of the treatment if your hair is significantly damaged.

Want to focus more on managing damaged hair?

If you want to focus more on managing damaged hair, you can use a scalp hair pack to manage your scalp. The application of hair packs may vary slightly depending on the product. Generally, you should apply the pack to your hair after shampooing and removing as much moisture as possible. Leave it on for about 20 minutes, then rinse it off. If you don’t have time to manage your hair with a hair pack, it’s also a good idea to use hair essence after washing it.

Should it be applied to the scalp?

While shampoo is used to thoroughly remove foreign substances from the scalp, treatment, and conditioner are used to manage the condition of the hair. Therefore, you should be careful not to touch the scalp as much as possible when applying, apply it evenly to the damaged areas, focus on the ends of the hair, and then rinse thoroughly.

Should I use the same brand as the shampoo?

Is it better to use the same brand of hair care products as the shampoo? Not necessarily. Depending on the type, advertisers might promote a product more effectively when used with a specific brand. While there’s nothing wrong with buying the same brand for synergy, it’s not necessarily better than using different brands.

Is the expensive one always better?

Most hair products are functional products, so there are many high prices, but it is challenging to expect fundamental causes that aren’t easy. Instead, it helps to maintain fundamental scalp health by considering the degree of dryness of the scalp and hair and selecting the product.

Check the Expiration Date

You must check the expiration date if you bought a product in bulk because it’s cheap. Also, opened products should be used within 1 year, and these days, many products contain natural ingredients, but even if the product is unopened, the expiration date is short within 1 year, so be sure to check before using it.

Use Products Suitable for Your Hair Condition

Everyone’s scalp is different. If you feel dry or itchy after washing your hair, you are likely to have a dry scalp, and if you later develop scalp scales or dandruff falls off, you are likely to have an oily type. Therefore, when choosing a product, selecting a product with a separate scalp type marked is good.

Applying Hair Oil is the Icing on the Cake!

Using argan oil for hair gloss helps supply nutrients to severely damaged hair. However, when choosing hair oil, choose a natural surfactant product. If you have oily scalp and hair, you must be careful. Oily types may not suit sticky oil, so choose an oil with a light and refreshing feel if you have to use it.
