Global pop star Jung Kook has set a new record on Spotify with “Seven (feat. Latto).”
On the 31st (Korean time), the world’s largest music platform, Spotify, announced through its official SNS that Jung Kook’s solo single “Seven” had accumulated a billion plays in just 108 days (as of October 30). This is the fastest billion streams record in Spotify’s history.
The previous record was held by Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” which reached a billion streams in 112 days. “Seven” has proven to be a mega-hit song, breaking the previous record by four days.
“Seven” entered the Spotify Daily Top Songs Global chart at number one with 15,995,378 streams upon its release on July 14. This is a record-breaking achievement as the first K-pop solo artist to top this chart and the highest cumulative play count for a new entry by a K-pop artist. Furthermore, “Seven” also ranked third in Spotify’s Most Streamed Songs of Summer 2023 (Global).
While setting unprecedented records with the mega-hit song “Seven,” Jung Kook, who also continued his success with another solo single, “3D (feat. Jack Harlow),” collaborations with The Kid LAROI and Central Cee on “TOO MUCH,” will release his solo album GOLDEN worldwide at 1 pm on the 3rd of next month.
This album includes a total of 11 songs, including the Explicit Ver. and Clean Ver. of “Seven” “3D.” The title track, “Standing Next to You,” is a retro funk song highlighting Jung Kook’s groovy vocals. The producers of “Seven,” Andrew Watt and Cirkut, have once again stepped up to produce the new song. Jung Kook is determined to showcase the pinnacle of complete performance through his new song activities and establish himself as a unique male dance solo artist.
