BTS’s Jungkook Shows His Perfectionism: Apologizes Despite Stellar U.S. Performance

tvreport Views

Jungkook from BTS apologized after his American NBC Today Show performance.

On the 8th (local time), Jungkook appeared on the Today Show on NBC in the U.S. He took the stage for an outdoor solo performance as part of the CitiConcert Series at the Today Plaza.

He delivered a powerful performance, singing live his solo songs “Standing Next to You,” “3D,” and “Seven.”

After the performance, Jungkook apologized through Weverse, saying, “I’m sorry, ARMY (BTS fandom). The live performance was a mess. There’s no excuse. I’ll do better next time.” He was apologizing for the less-than-ideal sound quality due to the cold weather and the nature of the outdoor performance.

Since releasing his solo album Golden on the 3rd, Jungkook has been performing worldwide. He drew inspiration from his “golden moments” for the album. Immediately after its release, it topped the “Top Album” charts in a total of 77 countries, including the UK, Germany, and Japan.

The title track of Golden, “Standing Next to You,” maintained its number one spot for two consecutive days on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart.

Jungkook has proven his global popularity by winning two awards in the Best K-pop and Best Song categories at the recently held 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards (2023 MTV EMA).
