Meta Platforms, Inc.’s WhatsApp platform has gone down yet again.
According to the outage tracking website Downdetector, despite WhatsApp resuming service for some users on the 3rd (local time), thousands of users experienced disruptions in connectivity.
WhatsApp acknowledged the issue in a social media posting, “We are aware that some people are currently experiencing problems, and we are working as quickly as possible to restore the situation.”
Downdetector reported that about 2,500 instances of problems with WhatsApp were reported by users in the United States.
Additionally, around 3,500 users in India, about 10,000 in the United Kingdom, and over 7,000 in Brazil reported platform-related issues.
WhatsApp reported that about 3,200 people in the United States had experienced issues with their Instagram connectivity.
Last month, hundreds of thousands of Meta’s Facebook and Instagram users worldwide were affected by connectivity issues for more than two hours due to technical problems.
At its peak, this outage affected over 24,000 WhatsApp users in the United States, and Instagram users reported over 5,000 cases of disruptions.
Meta has about 3.19 billion daily active users across its entire suite of app products, including Threads.
