10 Easy Ways to Achieve Perfect Posture!

daily Views

Everyone knows a straight shoulder line is beautiful, but achieving it is not easy. Multiple reasons, such as slouched posture, shoulders leaning forward, or tightened trapezius muscles, prevent most people from having straight shoulders. Let’s explore ten ways to create a beautiful straight shoulder line that can be consistently practiced daily.

Building Back Muscles

Straight shoulders come from solid back muscles. Start by developing back muscles with regular strength exercises that stimulate the trapezius, where the shoulder and arm meet, effectively straightening slouched shoulders. Whenever you have time, carrying a dumbbell or a water bottle is beneficial and consistently stimulates the back of your body.

Leaning Back

Leaning back and straightening your shoulders helps achieve straight shoulders, and it’s important to do so consciously. If it’s hard to do so consciously, try leaning back when standing or walking. When you lean back, the ends of your shoulders naturally pull back, your chest expands, and your slouched shoulders straighten.

Stretching

When students or office workers sit at a desk for a long time, tension builds up in the trapezius, causing the muscles to contract and shorten, which results in narrower shoulders. Therefore, by stretching frequently, the muscles and joints that haven’t been stimulated can be loosened, and your slouched shoulders straighten.

Stretching

Among various stretching exercises, wall-assisted stretching is effective in creating straight shoulders. There are two movements in wall-assisted stretching. The first movement is placing both hands on the wall and making the shoulders arch-shaped, then firmly pushing the upper body towards the wall. The second movement is standing against the wall with your back and ensuring your shoulders fully touch the wall for a minute. These two movements help loosen tight shoulder muscles and create a straight shoulder line.

Swimming

Swimming is an exercise that can help create straight shoulders, in addition to stretching. Swimming is the best option if you want to maintain health while achieving straight shoulders. It shows faster results compared to other methods. Breaststroke, which uses the shoulder joint most actively, greatly helps straighten slouched shoulders and create a beautiful shoulder line.

Wearing Off-Shoulder Clothes

If continuing to practice exercises or stretching is difficult, wearing off-shoulder clothes can be an alternative. It is especially recommended to wear off-shoulder outfits that fully reveal the shoulders to straighten them and maintain a correct posture consciously.

Wearing Comfortable Clothes

In contrast to wearing off-shoulder clothes, try wearing comfortable clothes around the shoulder area. If you wear clothes that are too tight or uncomfortable around the shoulder for a long time, your back naturally slouches, and your back muscles tighten, causing the shoulders to slouch. Therefore, making a habit of wearing loose clothes around the shoulder area can also help a little in creating straight shoulders.

Push-ups, Planks

Invest just 10 minutes a day in in-home training. Push-ups and planks may seem simple, but they develop the muscles in the shoulders and back. These exercises are a great way to create a straight shoulder line. With just 10 minutes of investment daily, you may notice a change in your shoulder line even before you know it.

Sleeping Straight

One way to achieve straight shoulders is to change your sleeping position. Sleeping on one side is not good for straight shoulders and shoulder muscles. Also, your posture gets slightly twisted, causing the shoulder muscles to tighten and the shoulders to narrow. Therefore, try sleeping, lying flat on the back, looking at the ceiling.

Straightening Shoulders

Try to straighten your shoulders consciously until you go to bed. Most people with narrow shoulders have them due to acquired reasons rather than congenital ones. If you maintain a slouched posture for an extended period, your spine bends, your shoulders roll inward, and, as a result, your shoulders narrow. Therefore, from the moment you wake up in the morning until you go to bed, you should consciously straighten your shoulders and maintain that posture.
