As the 2024 Paris Olympics unfold, the stadiums feel love in the air. Two proposals took place at different Olympic venues, capturing the attention.
French athlete Alice Finot proposed to her boyfriend after the women’s 3000m steeplechase final. After finishing the race with a personal best time of 8 minutes and 58.67 seconds, Finot went up to her boyfriend in the stands. She gave him a pin badge she had prepared and knelt.
Finot shared, “I told myself that if I ran under nine minutes, knowing that nine is my lucky number and that we’ve been together for nine years, then I would propose.” The pin badge she gave had the inscription saying, “Love is in Paris.”
Earlier, a heartwarming scene unfolded at the badminton venue. After China’s Huang Yaqiong clinched a gold medal in mixed doubles, Liu Yucheng took the stage to propose.
The proposals from both couples added a touching layer to the Olympic spirit, creating a memorable moment where sports and love beautifully intertwined.
