On Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent North Korean leader Kim Jong Un a message to honor the September 9th Day of the Foundation of the Republic.

On Monday, North Korea’s state-run newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported that Putin lauded the elevated status of the bilateral relationship between Russia and North Korea. He highlighted recent productive discussions in Pyongyang as evidence of the strong partnership.

Putin’s message underscored his confidence in the ongoing efforts to fortify the strategic alliance between Moscow and Pyongyang. He expressed optimism that both nations would continue to enhance their comprehensive partnership through sustained collaboration.

Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping also sent Kim a message to commemorate the North Korean regime’s establishment day. Xi noted the enduring friendship between China and North Korea, emphasizing that their relationship has only grown stronger over time.

Xi highlighted the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and this year’s designation as the China-North Korea Friendship Year. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to advancing this relationship with a long-term strategic outlook.

Xi also pledged to increase support for bilateral welfare and contribute more significantly to regional and global peace, stability, and development, reinforcing the close partnership between Beijing and Pyongyang.
