Shohei Ohtani has made it clear: winning back-to-back World Series titles is his top priority for 2025. The newly acquired Los Angeles Dodgers superstar recently shared this ambitious goal during an online interview with Japanese media.

In a recent interview with Sports Nippon and Sankei Sports, Ohtani declared his ultimate goal to win the World Series in 2025. He recognized the difficulty of securing back-to-back championships, pointing out the rarity of consecutive titles in the sport. Ohtani affirmed his determination to clinch the World Series trophy again in the coming year.

Ohtani joined the Dodgers on a groundbreaking 10-year, $700 million contract last year. He made history as the first MLB player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season (54 home runs and 59 stolen bases), playing a key role in his team’s World Series victory. He celebrated his marriage off the field and was named the unanimous MVP for the season.

Ohtani’s determination to win consecutive World Series titles is driven by the challenge it presents, especially given that no team has achieved this since the New York Yankees’ three-peat from 1998 to 2000. He stated that while achieving back-to-back championships is arduous, it remains his primary focus.

Despite being one of baseball’s most discussed stars both on and off the field, Ohtani maintains a firm commitment to excellence in his sport. While there are various ways to contribute to the growth of baseball, his foremost priority as an active player is to deliver top-notch performances on the field.

As Ohtani enters his 30s, he expresses confidence in his physical condition, declaring that he is in the best shape of his life. He remains aware of the importance of sustaining peak form for as long as possible and emphasizes the need to be prepared for any unexpected challenges.
