Kim Song Nam, who is leading the delegation of the North Korean Workers’ Party and visiting China, had a meeting with Wang Yi, the head of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission office (also serving as the foreign minister), at Beijing’s Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on the 23rd.

At the meeting, Kim emphasized that “in the year of North Korea-China friendship, the foreign affairs departments of both parties and both countries will contribute to strengthening mutual relations so that there will be fruitful results in various and abundant exchanges and cooperative projects planned between the two sides,” according to the Rodong Sinmun on the 25th.

Wang responded, “Protecting and developing the precious wealth of North Korea-China friendship, which is tied by blood, is the firm and unshakable position and will of the Chinese party, government, and people.”

“The meeting was attended by members of the Workers’ Party delegation, the North Korean ambassador to China, the Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister, and the head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee,” the newspaper reported.

“The Workers’ Party delegation was invited to a luncheon hosted by Director Wang on that day,” added the newspaper.
