The head of Foreign Affairs urges to stop the joint exercise of South Korea and the U.S.
Kim Yo Jong, Deputy Director of the North Korean Workers’ Party, criticized the joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States, declaring that they will “continue to amass an overwhelming and supreme military power.”
On the 24th, Kim told the Korean Central News Agency that “the U.S., along with its minions, has conducted over 80 military exercises so far this year, and the South Korean puppets have carried out more than 60 training exercises independently”.
She listed various joint exercises conducted by South Korea, the U.S., and Japan from January to this month, firmly stating, “Even by looking only at the various military exercises that the U.S., along with Japan and South Korean puppets, is conducting against us almost every week without rest, one can fully understand the cause of the region’s tense situation, which is about to blast.”
“Who are the real culprits destroying peace and stability?” she said, “We will continue to amass the most powerful and overwhelming military power to protect our sovereignty, safety, and regional peace. No one can break our will.”
Kim warned, “The U.S. should not encourage reckless bravery in its coward lackey, South Korea,” and threatened, “If they believe in their superiority and dare to attempt a military response against us, they will be annihilated instantly.”
North Korea also issued a statement by the head of foreign affairs in the press office calling for a halt to the joint South Korean and U.S. exercises. The statement read, “The irresponsible and worrisome display of force by the U.S. and South Korea, which continues to push the situation on the Korean Peninsula into unpredictability, must be stopped immediately.”
The head of Foreign Affairs also claimed that North Korea’s so-called nuclear counterattack virtual comprehensive tactical training conducted with super-large artillery on the 22nd was “a legitimate exercise of the right to self-defense to prevent the outbreak of war.”
