North Korea’s Leader Pays Tribute to Revolutionary Hero

The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, on the 19th, paid tribute at the Sinmi-ri Patriotic Martyrs’ Cemetery, marking the second anniversary of the death of Hyon Chol Hae, whom he greatly respected as a revolutionary comrade, according to the Rodong Sinmun,

The newspaper reported on the 20th, “Kim paid tribute with a bouquet at the tomb of Hyon Chol Hae, remembering the life of a revolutionary warrior who was infinitely loyal to the party and the homeland throughout his life.”

Kim said, “Hyon Chol Hae’s outstanding achievements will be immortal, and his spirit and friendliness will forever be in the hearts of all our military personnel.”

Hyon Chol Hae held positions such as a member of the General Political Department, a member of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and a member of the Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and is known to have helped Kim Jong Un’s succession during the time of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
