The impeachment motion against South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol may be voted on earlier than planned. Yonhap News reports that the Democratic Party of Korea is considering pushing for a vote on the motion at 5 PM on Saturday during the National Assembly’s plenary session, two hours earlier than initially scheduled.
The chief deputy floor leader, Park Sung Jun, stated in an interview on MBC Radio’s ‘Kim Jong Bae’s Focus’ on Friday that the party initially anticipated the vote to occur around 7 PM. However, he stressed that the vote should take place around 5 PM.
Park explained that they are considering scenarios where the People Power Party might employ high-delay tactics to prolong the impeachment vote process.
