As 2024 draws to a close, North Korea’s state media is celebrating Kim Jong Un’s policies and activities, portraying them as evidence of his unwavering dedication to the nation.
In a Saturday report, Rodong Sinmun detailed Kim’s yearlong initiatives, beginning with his January inspection of an agricultural machinery exhibition, where he outlined goals for revolutionizing the industry. The report also highlighted visits to military vehicle production facilities, the Gwangcheon Poultry Farm, and munitions factories to assess weapons and combat technology progress.
Among his achievements, Kim launched the Party’s “20×10 Regional Development Policy” and oversaw key projects, including the third phase of building 10,000 residential units in Hwasong District and a groundbreaking ceremony for industrial plants in Seongcheon County.
On March 15, he supervised military training exercises with the Korean People’s Army Airborne Troops and inaugurated the Kangdong Comprehensive Greenhouse Farm, reinforcing his role in both defense and agricultural development.
The report praised Kim as the “Great Father,” highlighting his swift response to flood damage along the Amnok River by convening an emergency Politburo meeting on-site. Other milestones included completing residential units in Pyongyang’s Imheung and Jeonui Streets and advancing rural housing projects across 20 cities and counties. Rodong Sinmun noted that these efforts “rekindled the people’s gratitude for the Great Father’s selfless devotion.”
The editorial called on citizens to emulate Kim’s commitment, urging them to overcome barriers in agriculture and achieve breakthroughs akin to the defense sector’s accomplishments. “Now is the time for all of us to follow the endless path of toil and dedication of our benevolent father,” it declared.
As the year ends, this coverage underscores Kim’s efforts to rally the nation around his leadership, presenting his actions as a model for the country’s continued progress toward its economic and military goals.
