To celebrate the New Year 2025, North Korean officials, workers, People’s Army soldiers, and youth students paid tribute to the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il throughout the country.

Rodong Sinmun reported Thursday that various groups, including the Party, government, military institutions, ministries, and central organizations, placed wreaths and floral baskets at Mansu Hill in Pyongyang, where the statues of the two leaders stand. Social groups, enterprises, factories, and universities also laid additional tributes.

The report mentioned that similar tributes were offered at other statues in Pyongyang, including those at Kim Il Sung University, the Ministry of Defense, and Mansudae Art Studio, in the name of the People’s Army, Social Security Forces, and local agencies.

Residents from across the country, including officials, workers, soldiers, and youth students, also paid their respects to the statues in their hometowns.

In addition, the newspaper highlighted a special performance for the New Year, which took place on January 1 at the Mangyongdae Children’s Palace. Attending the event were Choe Ryong Hae, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, along with senior Party, government, and military officials, as well as notable individuals, innovators, Pyongyang citizens, and students from revolutionary academies. They were joined by youth students who were invited to the celebration.
