Tesla’s electric pickup Cybertruck secured fifth among all-electric vehicles in May, outselling the Ford F-150 Lightning, which ranked tenth.
According to S&P Global Mobility, the Cybertruck, which started at just over $100,000 and included shipping, registered 3,907 units in May. In comparison, Ford’s electric pickup truck, launched in the spring of 2022, saw 2,353 units registered in May. The Rivian R1T, which debuted at the end of 2021, registered 1,237 units, placing it third.
The F-150 Lightning starts at $57,090, with shipping for the commercial Pro model and $65,090 for the retail XLT trim. Meanwhile, the Rivian R1T starts at $71,700, including shipping.
In contrast, the Chevrolet Silverado EV registered 668 units, and the GMC Hummer EV only 359 units.
From January to May this year, cumulative sales of the Tesla Cybertruck reached 7,879 units, compared to 13,443 units for the F-150 Lightning and 3,881 units for the Rivian R1T.
