Mercedes-AMG has officially unveiled its latest creation, the PureSpeed, in Abu Dhabi, marking the debut of the Mercedes-Mythos brand. This high-performance speedster, limited to just 250 units worldwide, represents the pinnacle of luxury and innovation. First previewed as a concept at the Monaco Grand Prix seven months ago, the PureSpeed combines Formula 1-inspired design with Mercedes’ signature performance and safety features.

Pure Speed is a model garnering attention because it is based on the existing SL and concentrates on Mercedes-AMG’s technology and design philosophy. It has been thoroughly reconstructed based on the existing SL, but the price is expected to be relatively high as it has become quite luxurious.

SL-Based High-Performance Speedster

The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed has been thoroughly reconstructed based on the existing SL, but the price is expected to be relatively high because it is pretty luxurious. In the case of this vehicle, the traditional glass window and A-pillar are eliminated, and instead, a high-strength steel high-low inspired by F1 is installed to ensure the safety of the passengers. This design boasts a style similar to the Mercedes-AMG GT Speedster produced by Bussink in Germany a few years ago. In addition, the design change considering the overall aerodynamic performance of the vehicle stands out, and the unique shape without a roof boldly emphasizes the style.

The front of the Purespeed is similar to the basic SL model but with some significant aerodynamic changes. The air intakes have been redesigned, and a custom hood has been added to improve aerodynamic performance. Since there is no roof, the rear diffuser and trunk lid serve to optimize airflow. The car also features 21-inch forged aluminum wheels with carbon fiber covers to improve stability at high speeds. An extendable rear spoiler and active aerodynamic elements are hidden underneath to increase the car’s downforce, maximizing performance. These elements help the car be more aerodynamically efficient and ensure excellent stability and performance at high speeds.

Powerful V8 Engine and Premium Features

In the case of Mercedes-AMG, there were no significant changes to Purespeed’s powertrain. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces 577 horsepower (585 PS) and 800 Nm of torque, boasting a performance that can complete the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration in just 3.6 seconds. This engine combines a 9-speed transmission and an all-wheel drive system to maximize the vehicle’s driving performance. In addition, carbon ceramic brakes and an active rear-wheel steering system are also equipped as standard to enhance stability during high-speed driving.

Purespeed offers luxurious interior options. The AMG performance seats with unique leather upholstery and decorative stitching emphasize the style, while the two-tone leather steering wheel provides an excellent grip. The dashboard has an analog clock from IWC Schaffhausen, enhancing the vehicle’s luxuriousness. These elements prove that Purespeed is a high-performance vehicle and a special model with artistic and luxurious elements.
