Hollywood’s rising star Timothée Chalamet and celebrity Kylie Jenner’s romantic relationship is making headlines.

Their public displays of affection at a concert have confirmed their relationship to their fans.

Interestingly, despite his busy schedule, Chalamet makes sure not to neglect his love life. His 2024 is expected to be even busier with a lineup of exciting projects.

Timothée Chalamet’s Year in Theaters: From ‘Wonka’ to ‘Dune: Part 2’

Hollywood’s rising star, Timothée Chalamet, is set to captivate South Korean cinemas with his contrasting charms in the new year.

With films such as ‘Call Me By Your Name'(2018), ‘Lady Bird’ (2018), ‘Little Women’ (2020), and ‘Bones and All’ (2022) under his belt, Chalamet will be showcasing ‘Wonka’ and ‘Dune: Part 2’ in January and February 2024.

The completely different genres and characters of these films have already piqued the curiosity of potential audiences.

● The Younger Days of Willy Wonka…*Wonka*

Directed by Paul King, ‘Wonka’ is confirmed to be released in South Korea on January 31st next year.

‘Wonka’ tells the magical story of Willy Wonka’s journey to becoming the world’s greatest chocolate maker, a prequel to the 2005 film ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.

‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, a film adaptation of the 1964 novel by renowned British author Roald Dahl, was beloved by movie fans worldwide and attracted 1.28 million viewers in South Korea. In the film, Johnny Depp portrayed the character of Willy Wonka, creating a unique character.

Timothée Chalamet plays the role of a young Willy Wonka. The film is set to capture the remarkable journey of Willy Wonka, who starts with nothing more than sweet dreams and an old hat, to become the world’s greatest chocolate maker.

Chalamet, an actor recognized for his solid acting skills and excellent filmography both in Hollywood and Korea, has already sparked much discussion by taking on the role of Wonka. The question of how Chalamet will portray a younger, more passionate Wonka, distinct from Johnny Depp’s interpretation, is generating curiosity.

Adding to the anticipation, Jeong-hoon Jung, a cinematographer who has worked on Korean films such as ‘Oldboy’, ‘Lady Vengeance’, ‘New World’, and ‘The Handmaiden’, as well as Hollywood films like ‘It’ and ‘Uncharted’ has joined the team.

● From Boy to Man…*Dune: Part 2*

In February next year, audiences will meet Dune: Part 2, directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Despite attracting only 1.54 million viewers in South Korea upon its release during the 2021 pandemic, ‘Dune: Part 1’ created a strong fandom and even coined the term ‘Dune-obsessed’, leading to a re-release in 2022. The term ‘Dune-obsessed’ refers to passionate fans who loved the film.

Director Denis Villeneuve caught attention by conducting a promotional tour for ‘Dune: Part 2’ in Korea, unusually two months ahead of the film’s release.

Villeneuve described the sequel as “a more masculine story compared to the contemplative and boyish image of the first film.” He also revealed that the love story between Paul (played by Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya Coleman) is at the center of the film.

Dune series is based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel of the same name. It depicts the journey of Paul, who was born to ascend the throne of the universe on the desert planet Dune, amidst a struggle for the life-sustaining resource, spice.

In Part 2, the awakened Paul, who has realized his abilities, embarks on a journey of revenge against those who killed his father, during which he finds his destiny as a warrior.
