On June 13, Deadline and The Hill reported that Former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed surprise and confusion over pop singer Taylor Swift’s lack of support for him in the presidential election.

This occurred after Trump’s first visit to the Capitol in over three years since the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, and two weeks after being convicted in a hush money case in May. Trump met with Republican members of the federal House of Representatives at the nearby Capitol Hill Club for a breakfast meeting, where he made these remarks about Swift, which attendees later reported.

It has been reported that Trump expressed surprise over Taylor Swift’s lack of support for him despite his administration’s efforts to pass legislation beneficial to songwriters.

He also expressed confusion over Swift’s endorsement of President Joe Biden in 2020. Swift has not explicitly clarified her support for Trump or Biden in the upcoming November election.

Previously, Trump supporters have spread conspiracy theories that Swift is a government secret agent, which was interpreted as an attempt to discredit her as a Biden supporter and neutralize any influence she might have on the election.

In addition, Trump reportedly referred to Milwaukee, where the national convention will be held in July, as a “terrible city” and called Nancy Pelosi’s daughter a “weirdo.”

A Democrat and a Former Speaker, Pelosi had a contentious relationship with Trump during his term, famously tearing up a copy of his State of the Union address.
