Woman Offers $10K Reward to Find Beloved Lost Dog

Daniel Kim Views

A Taiwanese woman offered a $10,000 reward to find her lost dog. Some questioned her sincerity due to the amount, but it was mostly huge support, as the dog had been her family member for 10 years.

According to Taiwanese media, Lin lost her pet dog, Mika, from her home on the 22nd of last month. It was speculated that Mika wasn’t wearing a leash and got lost after escaping through the back door left open that evening.

Lin first checked the security camera footage of nearby shops and asked around the neighborhood but couldn’t find him. The next day, she posted on Facebook asking for help to see Mika and offering a reward of 300,000 Taiwanese dollars (approximately USD 9,245).

On Facebook, Lin stated, “Mika weighs about 17 to 8kg and is shy. The weather is getting hot, so I really need to find her soon.”

Within two days, 20 people relayed information about Mika. Although she rushed to the farm where Mika’s traces were found, she could not find her. Security camera footage captured Mika walking with two other dogs.

Despite the explosive attention, Mika was not found. Fortunately, on the 24th, a man out for a walk spotted Mika. He took a picture and followed her, and another couple recognized Mika and followed her. Lin found Mika with their help and agreed to pay each person 100,000 Taiwanese dollars, expressing her gratitude.

According to Lin, Mika is a rescue dog from a mountain and a mixed breed. She has lived with her family for over 10 years since Lin was young.

Although some doubted her sincerity due to the large amount of money, this woman paid the entire reward to those who helped her reunite with her pet dog within 48 hours.
