Brooklyn Beckham, son of soccer legend David Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, have ignited a firestorm of controversy after sharing a video featuring their pet dog with brightly dyed fur.

According to a report by the Daily Mail on Sunday, the couple posted the clip on social media, showcasing their pup’s fur transformed into vibrant shades of pink and orange, originally a pristine white.

The response from viewers was swift and harsh, with many commenting, “It’s cruel,” “This should never be forgiven,” and “(The Beckhams) should not be allowed to own pets.”

Animal welfare organizations strongly oppose dyeing pets. Unlike humans, dogs have nearly neutral skin, making them more vulnerable to bacterial infections. Even gentle hair dyes contain chemicals, and if a dog licks its fur during the process, those toxins can be ingested, raising serious health concerns.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) stated that no proven safe method for dyeing animals exists, emphasizing that animals are not toys or accessories.

Several argue that there is no need for excessive criticism or speculation since special dyes made from natural ingredients are already on the market.

However, some supporters argue that natural dyes are available, suggesting excessive criticism may be unwarranted.
