A YouTuber from the U.S. visiting Seoul has stirred controversy by kissing the “Statue of Peace” and playing explicit videos on public transportation.

On Monday, JTBC’s CRIME CHIEF reported that Johnny Somali, a YouTuber with around 18,000 subscribers, had been causing disturbances in South Korea.

He sat next to the “Statue of Peace” in Itaewon, Yongsan District, kissed the statue on the cheek, and said, “I support the idea of Korea. I love Korea. Most of what I know about Japan is Korean and Chinese.”

During a live stream, Somali played explicit videos while pretending it was an accident on the subway. He was also kicked off a bus for loudly playing North Korean music. Reports indicate that police were called when he caused a disturbance at an amusement park.

This is not the first time Somali has engaged in such actions. In July, during a visit to Japan, he was arrested for playing explicit sounds on a train and causing disturbances by asking rude questions to passengers.
