Heartfelt Tribute: ‘Spring Day’ by BTS Tops the Music Chart After 6 Years

joynews24 Views

Fans from around the world, known as the ARMY, have gifted a “Spring Day” resurgence to the now-enlisted members of the group BTS.

On December 13, BTS’s title track “Spring Day” from their 2017 album ‘WINGS Extension: YOU NEVER WALK ALONE’ unexpectedly rose to number one on the Japanese Oricon ‘Daily Digital Single Ranking’ on December 12th. “Spring Day”, which had previously been outside of the chart’s ranking, made a sudden leap to the top spot.

Additionally, from December 12th through 8 AM on December 14, “Spring Day” topped the iTunes ‘Top Songs’ chart in a total of 83 countries/regions, including the U.S., Japan, Germany, the U.K., and France. Despite the dominance of the Carol genre on many ‘Top Songs’ charts at the end of the year, “Spring Day” managed to surpass Mariah Carey’s mega-hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” drawing attention to its chart-topping success.

This resurgence of “Spring Day” can be attributed to the power of the ARMY. All members of BTS have now begun their mandatory military service, and it is expected that the warm hearts of the fans, who are waiting for the group’s full activities to resume in 2025, will be reflected in the chart’s movement.

“Spring Day” is an alternative hip-hop track that combines Brit-rock sensibilities with electronic sounds. RM and Suga participated in the songwriting, infusing the song with a message of not losing hope while waiting for a reunion with a distant friend.
