BLACKPINK’s Lisa Beams with Pride for Her Group

tvreport Views

BLACKPINK’s Lisa has embarked on her first journey as a solo artist.

Lisa recently shared her updates in an exclusive interview with Elle Taiwan.

The interview took place after her contract with YG Entertainment fell through. Lisa said, “BLACKPINK is a group without a leader, so we can freely express our opinions. If there’s something we want to take responsibility for, we come forward ourselves. I’m so grateful that I can speak freely with the members.”

Regarding completing their large-scale world tour last year, she said “It felt hollow until the morning of the last performance, but after the stage ended, mixed feelings remained. The performance was fun, but I also cried seeing the fans shedding tears at the end. I felt all sorts of emotions.”

As the first Asian artist to headline North America’s largest music festival, ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’, she said, “This Coachella was much larger in scale than the last one, so I was nervous. Of course, it was a pleasant tension, and all I thought was that I could never let you down. I wanted to show the fans how proud BLACKPINK is.”

Lisa, who is taking a brief rest before going solo, said, “I want to spend time with my family. My niece only speaks French and doesn’t know Thai, so I want to learn French,” expressing her New Year’s resolution. She further emphasized, “You have to believe in yourself. You shouldn’t be swayed by what others say. The most important thing is my happiness.”
